Marli Goodwin never met her father, who died mysteriously just after she was born. Now, unexpectedly, she learns his death happened at a place called Jackoburn Manor. Though it's been almost thirty years, she decides to investigate and see if there might be any clues for her to find.

By what seems like a strange coincidence, Marli arrives at the manor the same day as seven other people—all of them strangers to each other, including a ghost hunter, a runaway teen girl, a treasure hunter, some stranded travelers, and an old man who entered Jackoburn Manor as a boy... but can't remember what happened. A snowstorm traps them all inside the house for the night.
